We're sort of assuming that they're Ramshorns, but is there a chance that they are MTS? There are all sorts of good articles out there on MTS (some of which even have pictures)...Google "ChilDawg melanoides" (without quotes) and you can see one such article...

Thanks for all the help and info. I kinda figured I have to do something to control them. I haven't minded having them until the last week when there seemed to be a population explosion (from 1 to 12 in one week, yikes). Anyway, here's a pic of a snail and a pic of my "pleco" if anyone can help in id'ing.

the snail looks like a common pond snail, and the pleco looks like a clown pleco. make sure you have driftwood for it to munch.
