What would be a good live food for these guys? How often should I give it to them? Now, the majority of their diet is flakes, sinking bottom feeder pellets (20 gal) and algae wafers (10 gal). I give them all thawed, shelled peas every now and then.

Would it be a bad idea to try to "grow" my own mosquito larvae?

The mollies are nibbling on the sword, is this becasue they arent getting enough veggie matter?

All those fish can be fine with your current diet. YOu seem to be doing very well.

Maybe, the easiest wat to get live food would be to buy some live artemia in a fish store every weekend or so. Clean, easy to maintain.

About your own mosquito larvae, you can try it, but be careful. I once tried and didn't do it well. My house was full of mosquitoes one day.

like patoloco said, mosquito larvae require a lot of observation and responsibility due to the possible spreading of diseases. Best I can suggest is place a barrel outside and let the mosquito's lay eggs. Do some research and learn the life cycle of the mosquito's so you know what to look for. when the eggs hatch, harvest the larvae and feed what you can. freeze the rest and dump the barrel and start over so you never produce adult mosquito's.

Personally, I'd suggest whiteworms for your mixture. All the fish should love whiteworms and you can grow them inside your house very easily. KYle
