I have some basic info. While they can survive in freshwater they are better off in a brackish condition. If you are invenomated put the puncture site in the hottest water you can stand to help lessen the pain and definetly call for some medical help. I've been looking at getting one as well. They are carnivorous so dont put them in any tank with smaller fish or larger fish that may try to eat or pick on them. The larger fish will get a nasty surprise. Not sure if there is more than one species but i know they can get 30 cm long in the wild but much smaller in the home aquarium. Remember be careful. I've heard stories of victims of saltwater stonefish going insane from the pain of the venom. The some saltwater species have the most powerful venom on the planet.

saltwater lions arent the that venonmous. at least not the aquarium availible species, heck if they were i'd be long dead.

Not lions, stonefish. Two completely different subfamilies and notice I said some. Off the top of my head i cant remember the exact specie.
