Freshwater Setup help

It has been a while since progress has been made but.... the tank has been fully cycled thanks to the help of some lucky feeder fish from the local lfs, the new koralia is doing a good job keeping all of the detritus off of the bottom of 3/4 of the tank, and im hoping that the output from the fluval fx-5 that i just purchased :) will be enough to kick up the remaining dead spot that the koralia misses. if not then another koralia will definitely be on order.

The lights also have been working excelllent, a test plant has shown some noticeable growth, im not sure what it is but it floats on top with broad leaves and is growing under the lights, giving me hope that others will do the same and that i have jugded the lighting setup to work correctly

schools of small fish are going to be the goal, probably more heavily planted with an automated co2 setup and schools of tetra, some gourami's and some inverts that will be compatible

No giant gourami. :( lol, just kidding. You could do an aro or something but i respect your decision about small schooling fish. You could make a neon or cardinal dream tank out of that and then have discus and cory cats with some fancy plecos on the side and maybe some cockatoo dwarf cichlids and maybe some black darter tetras and maybe some hatchet fish and maybe some... The ideas are just spinning around my head as I type.

hahaha how do you think i feel.... the ideas are almost to much to comprehend, i do like the ideas of a nice centerpeice of driftwood with some intricate rootwork maybe, at least one with many limbs that smaller fish could swim in and around, some snails and inverts on bottom that would be compatible, and perhaps a few larger but not huge fish for some good looks

got the fluval in and installed today!!!! hopefully water quality will be immaculate from here on out, the two bio wheels just dont cut it hahahah

Congrats on the FX5 I'm running 2 in my 500 gal and they do a GREAT job. How deep & wide is your tank
