Does anyone have any information on freshwater Alpheids?

The newly discovered Alpheus cyanoteles of Malaysia (an image is visible at the bottom of the linked page) has apparently filtered into the European aquarium trade (see this link, in which it is noted to go for about 15 EUR when in market).

Is it possible to acclitamize the apparently mangrove-dwelling Alpheus microrhynchus to freshwater conditions, as this site might suggest?

For most shrimp, it depends. They can be acclimated to hard water, but I wouldn't try it with soft water. Shrimp need trace minerals found in brackish and salt water to successfully molt--soft water lacks these.
