Someone local is selling a very nice 72g bowfront tank. It doesnt come with anything except stand and tank. (no lid)

If you really likes it, how much would u be willing to spend? He's asking $500 but Im gonna offer $300...

U think its worth it?

is it new or used? it depends a lot on the quality of the stand, if its NEW and a really nice sturdy stand made of real wood and not particle board, then maybe $500. if its used but in great shape with a nice stand, then about 350-400, used but in great shape with a not so sturdy stand, about 250-300. i'm basing that on my local market though. you may be able to find something way better in your area, or that might be an awesome deal.

Considering the fact that I can get a 55 for $40 and build my own stand (approx. $20), I'd say that's outrageous even considering the larger volume.

well...its used, but its in good shape. But remember...its just the stand and the tank...nothing else (no canopy)

heres a pic of the exact same setup

they wanted $550 but I got them down to $300-$350 range.
would u pay that much for it if u wanted it?

The real question is not what we think, but what do you think? Search the classifieds and Craigs list. See what they are going for. Check the price new. Check the price of a hood unless you willing and able to build one.

Have a negotiation strategy. What is the most you are willing to pay? If you have them at the 300 to 350 range, than you probably just set your offer @ $350. If that is your walk away number, then walk away. If not, wait for a counter. Never bid against yourself.
