I've just started feeding my guppies frozen bloodworms, and have a couple of questions. First off, is it OK to just drop a whole worm in, or should I give them small pieces? I tried giving them a whole worm this morning and they basically just grab an end and eat it for a while until it's gone (picture trying to eat a hot dog without using your hands). Also, since my tank is small, I don't use all the worms in each sealed cube - can I just refreeze what I don't use? And finally, do Cory Catfish enjoy bloodworms?

As long as they are eating it it should be fine to just put it in the way that you are. I would only take out wahat you are going to use. I don't think that refreezing it is a good idea. As far as the cory catfish go, yes they would love the bloodworms and anything else that they can scrounge up to eat.

Well the worms come cubes under tin foil, as seen in the attachment, so it's very hard to only take what I'm going to use. I could take them all out and put them in a resealable container - can I do this?

While they are frozen after you take them out of the package, you can cut with a knife what you think you can use. Then just put the rest that you are not going to use in a resealable container or a baggie and put it back in the freezer. Whatever you put back just make sure that it has not started to thaw out and you should be fine.

I've been feeding my fish an array of food including blood worms. It's annoying cutting frozen food in half, Sometimes I'll drop both halves in and I gotta fish it out fast.

If I had halves piled in some tupperware that I can just take from the fridge, that would be a life saver.

Do not refreeze any worms that have thawed. It's best just to cut the cube in half or in quarters and then stick the still frozen pieces in a well-sealed freezer bag. I wouldn't pre-cut too many pieces in advance, my puffers reject the stuff that has been frozen but outside the foil after a week or so.

Also keep in mind that these cubes don't last forever. Most folks I've talked to recommend replacing the cubes every 6 to 8 weeks for optimum freshness. This makes sense to me as I certainly don't like to eat chicken/hamburger that has been frozen after 2 or more months. This may be more of a concern though for fish (like my puffers) where this is the main food source.

Ok. Well my bloodworms will probably last a couple months. I wonder if I can buy only half at a time or something like that.
