OK so I`ve got my 1st fish a Tiger Oscar, the man in the shop said he was 6 months old, and he seems really happy: He swims about all day and will demolish any food I put in the tank straight away.

My question is about feeding, the bloke in the shop sold me some frozen food, its chicid chow and is in blocks, the man said to feed him 1 block per day, but this seems like loads to me, the blocks are about 1.5cm cubed and the fish is about 2.5 in, also am i supposed to thaw them out before putting them in the tank?

One last thing, I read somewhere that my tiger Oscar will eat earthworms, is this the type I`ll find in my garden and will they need to be treated?

Will there be a problem if I get another Tiger Oscar? fighting and so on.

Thanks Guys,

Yes that is alot of food. Try chopping it in half. He'll eat it, being an oscar, but he'll be just fine with less. Earthworms are fine as long as you don't fertilize with chemicals. He'll love those. And another oscar is dependent on tank size. In the end you'll need a 125 minimum, though you can certainly raise them in progressively larger tanks (remember that when I say raise an oscar, we're talking about just over a year).
