So I went through my freezer today, and I realized that I still have some frozen bloodworms! I thought they had gotten thrown out, but it looks like they have not. I got these last September (2008), so I think they are still fresh.

But I have a question, I read that some frozen foods bring along some unwanted pests... like Ich, Is it safe to use these foods now that they have not been touched for so long?

I think the Ich, if any, died out by now.

I've never heard of frozen bloodworms harbering ich. I have kept them in the freezer 6 months before using them up. Should be fine.

Yep, use them.

chances are the blood worms were irradiated, so the chances of them harboring any nasties are pretty close to nil.

Yeah, never heard of that. In fact, for my pufferfish, if I get fresh crab or something, I chop them up into the size I need and then freeze them for at least a couple days to kill any bacteria.

As long as they didn't thaw out, they should be perfectly fine.

I have never heard of frozen food harboring nasties such as ick. I would say they are perfectly fine to use for your fish as long as they were not thawed and re-frozen.
