Fu Man Chu Lion

One of the dwarf lion species, gets about 4-5" in length. More sedentary than almost any other lion...spends a lot of time sitting, especially during the day. More active at night. Not at all aggressive, but any smaller fish in the 3" range are on the menu, so pick only tankmates that are significantly too big to eat.

cool fish but I was told by the LFS that they are picky eaters and hard to feed at times. I got the fuzzy dwarf instead and he has been in the tank for a year and doing great. although I am still tempted to go back one of these days and find one of the Fu man chus to add to my tank!!

Is probably the Miles Lion (Pterois mombasae). They are most commonly called that. If that is not them then look into the Antennata Lion (Pterois antennata). Fu Manchu Lions are generally kinda easy to geet feeding, they require live ghost shrimp at first but the hard part is weaning them to prepared foods. Hope this helps.

The Fu Manchu Lionfish, also known as the Twinspot Lionfish, or Ocellated Lionfish, has red, white, and black vertical stripes along the body. It has large, fan-like pectoral fins, and tall, quill-like dorsal fins. It is unique from other Lionfish because of the two, feeler-like appendages on the chin.

A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with numerous hiding places is suitable. It will hide while acclimating to its new environment. The top spines are venomous, causing reactions similar to a bee sting, only stronger.

The Fu Manchu Lionfish diet consists of meaty foods such as live shrimp (including ornamental shrimp), live fish, and sometimes, crustacean flesh.
