I noticed last night that my betta fish has a white spot on his head looks like fungus.I just did a wc on his tank this past Wed night. Last night I added aquarium salt to his water he is in a 2.5g minibow with a filter. I do wc's weekly and this is the first time he is sick :(. I have had him for quite a while.

I was wondering I have pimafix in the house would that be ok to use since my QT is in use right now I would have to treat him in his tank? I read on the bottle that it doesn't affect the nitrifying bacteria just wanted to know if using this med would be a good way to go. I want to nip it in the butt quick. I just adore this betta any help would be so appreciated thanks :).

Well it appeared cottony looking not spots like ich and is on his head I decided to use fungal cure which also treats bacterial infections and will see how it goes. I also added aquarium salt to the water. I read the pimafix is not a good alternative for bettas something about it damaging their labyrinth organ. This med you add to the tank twice and that is it doses are 48 hrs apart. I have had this betta for about 1 yr.
