I just finished setting up the tank. I got a bunch of java fern that looked pretty beat up for relatively cheap, put the best of the bunch on the driftwood. Also got robbed over the Anubias (15 dollars!? Really wtf..) Anyway financial problems aside, here's the tank. I had to tie a rock to the driftwood to keep it down (at least I know it's not a witch) The top was made from lexan and duct tape. When fiance gets home she will set up the tank on the other side of the cory tank for her betta, will post pictures of that setup later.
5.5 g btw with a nano filter and a like 25-50 watt heater, forgot.

(aloe vera if you are wondering what is making a cameo in the last picture)

is that an Azoo power filter? they are great little filters for little tanks, but you might want to add something small to the other end. the corner with the driftwood looks like it could fall victim to stagnant water pretty quickly. Azoo makes nice little powerheads, and Marineland has a line of small water pumps that can help (Mini- and Micro-jet pumps).

the aquascaping looks very good. i like the driftwood.

Looks like a great start to the tank!

(at least I know it's not a witch)

I'm not a witch, I'm not a witch!:grinyes: Gold!

Looks good, man. Will you keep the one male or a few girls in there? If you can get more Java Moss, pack a nice large ball of it someplace out of the current. Betta's love sleeping in that stuff.

Good work!

I don't like the virulence of java moss and it's a bit high maintenance to keep looking great. Our other Betta has a driftwood Java moss dinosaur, so I wanted to go in a different direction with the new tanks.

1 male per tank btw.

Fiance finished her tank. It's still a bit cloudy, so we'll do a couple more WC's, but beyond that it's finished. She fell in love with some dwarf helzine, which is in the back and will hopefully grow. The hood lights are not going to suffice, do you think the sun will supplement enuff light to keep it growing?

1st tank looks nice, the wood really makes up the tank. But i agree some plant or moss has to cover the fishing line on the wood.
The 2nd tank... has some interesting wood lol... And ill leave it at that
For most of the plants you have in there sunlight will be fine. Except the plant on the right which is HC (small leaved one) which wont survive under these low conditions.

It's just thread, not fishing line. It'll decay around the time the plants attach properly. I'm worried about the HC, but she wouldn't take no for an answer at the store no real gain in winning I'm afraid, so just going to let it play out (way too many commas. I'm not going to fix it)
