I have about 11 plants in my 55 gallon. They weren't doing so well, but I upgraded my light and bought stuff for the plants. Today is the second day I have dosed with flourish and excel.

Well, I was looking at them very closely today and they appear to have a little "fuzz" look to the leaves, almost like lint... and the fuzz looks like little fuzzy bubbles... it's kinda odd and you REALLY have to look to see.

Is this a problem? Or normal?

What should I do to fix it?

fuzzy bubbles? take a pic if possible!! if it looks like lint it may be hair algae. common in alot of tanks.like above more info needed.
i know its a 55g with 64 watts so the light shouldnt be to much unless its on 12 hours

I probably do leave it on about 12 hours...

It's not incredibly noticeable - I really was just staring at the plants because they had kind of deteriorated with my original lighting (30W total, agh) so I was staring at them every day looking for signs of improvement, ahah.

It is very very small.

Stock of plants are:

1 AMAZON SWORD 9-11" TALL
2 JAVA FERN 5-7" TALL
1 amazon 12-14" mother plant
1 APONOGENTON CRISPUS 4-7" TALL
1 ANUBIA
6 STEMS BLUE HYGRO 8-11" TALL
5 CRYPT WENDTII RED PLANTS 6-7" TALL

fish stock are (dont know if you need this but here it is, lol)- 5 neon tetra, 2 albino cories, 2 julii cories, 5 balloon mollies.

lighting is a 4ft shop light, 2 32W t-8 bulbs.

I would tear off the leaves that have it on them,. The liqiud ferts should be fine at low dose's , and you seem to have enough plants ... cant tell for sure without a picture thow .. you could take a picture of the whole tank, then TRY" to get a pic of the algea on the plant , put the plant in a water bowl, and take the picture that way , really close . its worth a shot to get a poitive id .
I would think your lighting is too low . maybye add another shop light ? at 32 watts per bulb, I dont think it would hurt at all . good luck and HTH ~ get those algea bubbled leaves OFF now, thats what I would do . good luck .

"fuzzy" bubbles? Could be a form of algae. What color?

Could they be really tiny little air bubbles? If so, then it is probably just the plants pearling(gasses released by the leaves during photosynthesis - perfectly normal)

I wouldn't remove any leaves until you are sure it's algae, and even then, it could go away on it's own rather shortly...

Fuzz Algae tends to grow on the very edges of the leaves and is just a sign that you recently made changes to your tank. The bubbles I'm sure id just small O2 bubbles from water or fish movement. Keep doing what your doing and it will go away on its own.

try doing more pwcs, lower fertz, up excel, and ive noticed that i was getting algae with 8-9 hours of light a day until i actually rose lighting to 12-13 hours a day, and algae was gone!
