What a bunch of crap builds up in this hose! I changed the filter, turned it on, and WHAMMO - tons of garbage shoots out. Next time I will clean this hose as well. I guess the input hose doesn't rally need it.
:grinyes: IMO you need to clean both since all this loose stuff will get sucked in by the intake and slowly clogged your intake or slow the flow. Another thing is that you clean the stages and all this loose material will get to the material you just changed. :nutkick: :grinno:
its those dang ribbed hoses its a junk magnet. when the time comes replace them with vinyl tubing from home depot and you wont have so much of a problem. when i used canisters with ribbed hosing FLUVAL comes to mind i always replaced the tubing with non ribbed vinyl its pretty cheap.
Generally open the stop before placing back onto the filter after cleaning and draining both sides into a bucket. Doesn't get it all but it seems to help. Agree about changing out the tubing for non-ribbed just haven't gotten around to it.
