GARF's Grunge

I have it has coraline, pods, micro stars, sponges, and other little creepy crawlies. I was VERY pleased with it it added a great deal of diversity to my sand bed. If your tank is already set up I'd put it in my sump and let it spread to the rest of your tank to give the animals time to get established before they have to face your fish.

I personally believe that GARF as an entire idea is crap. In a well run tank with a refugium everything they supply in that mud will be present within 6 months. I have never used it but hear very mixed opinions on it. You can certainly do without it and it's not going to make any miracles happen.

The many corals that GARF propagates speaks for itself. Anyone that says it's crap without demonstrating an equal or greater ability to culture corals on their level has no merit in my book.

I only used it once and was very happy. I used it in a new set up and sort of had a the survival of the fittest idea. I was pleased.
