Generic Fleet enema product?

Has anyone used a generic product for Fleet enema solution for ferts? I bought the generic just because, not thinking about the inactive ingredients. The generic has a different inactive ingredient but just only that one is listed, Fleet has a couple inactive ingredients. I figure one is better than a few, but I'm no biochemist to judge the reactions of the inactive ingredients to the aquaria.

Any experiences?

what are the inactive ingredients listed in both? I'm sure someone would be able to tell you yay or nay if I can't. I'm no biochemist either (opted out of those classes in college ), but I do decend from a line of doctors and my mom was a pharmacist

Fleet inactive Ingredients: Benzalkonium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Purified Water

The generic has Methylparaben and USP Purified Water.

Hmmmm I just found a thread in APC that someone mentions Benzalkonium Chloride as a no-no, even though some responders say they've had no problems with using Fleet. But what about Methylparaben?

I've used Fleet for years with no issues at all. By generic, do you mean a store brand?

Yep, the Wally Brand. I've seen calculators with both Fleet and Generic. But it seems a little different in dosage. However I'm wondering about the inactive ingredients in the tank.

i got the 2 pack of fleet. it was only a couple bux at walmart i thought. i been using it for a couple months everything seems fine.

Benzalkonium chloride is an antiseptic. Pretty mild. Disodium chloride EDTA is probably a preservative. Methylparaben is also a preservative. Both the latter are most likely in very small amounts unlikely to hurt your tank, especially at the amounts you'd be dosing for plant ferts.
