Now that my tank has been up and running and the cycle has been over for a few weeks, I think it's time to start adding a fish or two.:headbang2: I think I've decided the fish that tentatively I'm going to get. I want a pair of True Percula Clowns (maybe black/white), Firefish Goby, and a Citron Clown Goby. If you think that this selection wouldn't be the best I'd like to know. And if you would have other suggestions on fish?

But I would like to know if there is an order that would be best suitable to put the fish in my tank?? Should the clown pair be the first to go in?? Or should I just try one of the Goby's first? And should I wait at least a month before adding the other fish?

---

Possibly later on down the road I will add a Green Mandarin Goby. I know that it should be in a bigger tank than a 36 Gallon, but I've seen many people do it before in tanks smaller than mine. As far as the copepods go though...will they just build up over time in my tank?, because I think I have a few in their now. Or would I have to purchase live copepods for feed, which from just glancing at, seems kind of expensive?

For the copepods you can get a couple jars/containers of them now and when you your madarin you'll have tons. You'll still probally need to buy more later though.

I would put the Firefish in first. they are shy and will want to find a dart hole to hide in. I'd wait about 2-4 weeks for him to get comfy. Then I'd probably do the clown goby simply because its another fish thats alone. then i'd add the pair of clownfish...

seems like a good combo to me. you could also get a dwarf angel possibly.

Stay away from the mandarin for awhile, most won't recommend it until the tank is a lot more mature. I tried it and failed..he vanished, completely. We didn't even find his dead body yet and that was away ago. They are so pretty, but leave them to until it gets better.

I agree with Pallen on the order as well.

I'd also add them in this order, but I think that you could easily switch up the order between the firefish and the clown goby if you find one is easier to obtain at the moment than the other. Either way, I'd add the clowns after the other two have been in there first.

Copepods will reproduce on their own in your tank, however, to successfully keep a mandarin you'll likely find yourself buying live copepods to restock your tank with them on a regular basis. There have been cases where mandarins will eat some frozen foods (frozen mysis), so if you end up with one willing to do that, you'd have to buy copepods somewhat less often.

So if getting a dwarf angel down the line is a possibility, would there only be certain ones I should be looking at? I liked the looks of the Lemonpeel, Coral Beauty, or a Half Blck Angel. Would these be acceptable for my tank?

Yeah, there are only certain kinds. some are just too aggressive. others feel free to jump in with opinions, I'm no angel expert.

lemonpeels are hit and miss from what I've read in terms of aggression
coral beauties would probably work fine
half black angel - I dont know
other possible angel is the Flame Angel. They are wicked awesome looking and as long as there isn't any fish that look like them or too much red, they should be fine. expensive though, but what salty fish isn't?! hehe.

HA, ya I've noticed that everything about this hobby is expensive, but well worth it! Thanks for the advice on the Angels and the order of adding them!

no problem, just research alot from multiple sources. let us know what you pick.
