i was thinking of adding a small school of tiger barbs to my aquarium. I was wondering, would they bully the ghost shrimp i already have in my tank?

thanks

Completely not related to the question, but relevent to the thread: How long do these suckers (tiger barbs) live? My mom used to have a school, but only one is alive now.. it's gotta be at least 6 or 7 years old. Looks completely healthy too, eats every day and has perfect color and body shape.

I believe they are from the same family as goldfish, and goldfish have great longevity. I'd be interested in knowing too as I have a barb in my tank...

I need more actually. I need to add at least 3 more GTBs (hopefully males) and 2-3 kuhlis. I know it'll be a little overstocked, but I feel bad watching my GTB school with white clouds (she also looks perpetually pregnant), and my kuhli sulks behind the filter with the other loach...

I've had my tiger barbs with amano shrimps for a while, and the tigers don't pay attention to the shrimps... although the tigers do tag/nip any colourful/fancy fish that I try to place in the same tank..

I tried to add some ghost shrimp to an established tank of regular tiger barbs...bad idea, they all became snacks before they hit the gravel. But it might work if the shrimp are in the tank first...atleast for a while.
