Would ghost shrimp do well in a 10 gallon aquarium without live plants (but plenty of fake ones)? I've read they do best in a tank with live plants and a mature substrate.

I am also seeing in reading that the shrimp become agressive in warmer waters (the normal range for a tropical tank). Anyone have problems with shrimp attacks? I'm looking at them in terms of something to be constantly eating the excess flakes and whatnot on the bottom of the tank. Any other suggestions? If I do get one, should I ease up on gravel vacing so I don't exhaust its food source?

This post is falling fast, so I don't know how many people are reading it. But just to throw this out there for someone who does a search on ghost shrimp in the future:

There are a few species of shrimp sold as ghost shrimp/glass shrimp. The true species (Palaemonetes paludosus) is peaceful and shouldn't hurt anything. Other related species that look similar can be aggressive. Ask your dealer for a verification of the Latin name or you might end up with a mean invert at the bottom of your tank.

Found that out earlier. Thought I'd pass it on.
