My girlfriend and I attended Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach SC this week when we were on vacation. One of the first tanks we seen was this tank with HUGE pacu. Just to give you an idea of how massive these pacu were there tankmates in the pics were several 4-5" silver dollars and 10-12" oscars. Maybe we should send this pic to wal-mart lol.

Yes i love pacus, used to have 2 but had to give them away, bkuz at Walmart they sold them to me as SILVER DOLLARS and said they only get 6", yea well i soon found out that they got to 6" in about 4 weeks, from the lil 1" babies as they were, i was an inexperienced fish keeper at the time and now i have learned my lesson and NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM WALMART ANYMORE. But pacus are beautiful fish and i cant wait to get a new house and build my pond in the back in which i am goin to keep a few red-bellied pacus, and probably some black pacus (up to 5').
In mexico and latin america i heard they raise rad bellied pacu for eating as a regular meal, much as salmon and other fish are here in the states. always wanted to try some...

If you look aside from the pacus you will see that theres oscars with red-hook silver dollars

Oh BTW...In that walmart/pacu thread, I posted an e-mail that I had sent them reagrding the pacus. They replied back, that they needed to specify which store I was talking about. I replied, that I was talking about any store that sold pacus. And said that if I suplied them with a location, theye would likely fix the problem here, and continue thier abuse of animals elsewhere. No reply as of yet ;)

yup, all three walmarts in my area say 10" for pacus.
