I'm to head out to where fish world is tomorrow during the morning to pick up the lens I rented to take pics of a dance residle and I called fish world today on if their many fish in and the guy was running over some of what they have and he then mentions a dragon moray. I told him that I will be in tomorrow to see this eel and will tell of what if its gender is male or female. This person knows me and know of what I know about eels and he said that he trust my views to a dragon moray eels gender then most others. I will have my camera with me and will see if i can get some good shots of this eel. He did however ask me on how I can by looking at the eels and I explained something to him that its nothing to do with the coloration of the eel but rather as if you be looking at a person on the street, you can tell the person is male or female. With me with the dragon species is the same thing in this respect, you only need to know the species and research them for many years.

Buddy

I was told that the eel is about 14"

Thats interesting you can do that. Sounds like it can very well work, except people are different from fish so it seems harder. I am sure you can differentiate. Good luck!

Differentiate? Of course, in their differential characteristics. There happens to be one who know of this that I can and he never admitted this to anyone. A person who before bought a dragon eel wnated to know if it look well and of what gender it be. I told him that its a female and he later had a free offer to do a DNA on the eel and only because he doubted me he took the offer. I told him that it will still be a female :perv: I just noticed this new face and wanted to see what it will look like, lol

You think you could do this with other fish or just eels? Eels are awesome, plan to keep them somewhere in my future.

It was at fish World and the guy was only joking it seems and its a good thing that I had to go out that way for the lens. For if I drove all out my way just to ID the eels gender and he not had it, I would been P-OFF For I would wasted $3 a gal of gas to drive some two hours back and forth. They do have a yellow head and spotted morays.

Fish Pro in Cary/Raleigh area has a Moray (I think) that is pretty nice!

Lens?? what do you shoot??

My best lens is a 70-200 2.8 "L" IS USM

Hey - we (the camera club I founded) are having a guest speaker this Tuesday evening if you are interested ...

I have their card in my wallet :D Thats where I go whenever I want to get something expensive b/c I trust their quality and CS is outstanding (thats where I got my LR and some of my fish from) I think its well worth the hour and a half drive.:headbang2:

Hey Buddy do you think you can tell the sex of a snowflake through pictures? I might be able to post a vid or two. I will be starting a pred tank soon and a snowflake is on my list I was just wondering if you might be able to help me as far as determining the sex.

SFE or even the spotted eel, the only way to ID their gender is by doing a DNA. There are a good number of people in the world who can by simply viewing a dragon eel that can determine their exact gender.

Hey Freaky :grinyes: This will be the second time that im using my camera for my granddaughters dance residle and wit no flash. I am still however still getting to know how and what to do in which you should know that there are loads of info to take in what you should do under so many different lighting conditions and how it changes from one lens to another. My camera is the Rebel XT and when ever the reef tanks be started, I brought the 100 mm macro lens. The lens I rented out on Atlantic Ave is a 70 x 200 mm lens with stabilization an d to protect their lens I requested a protective filter for it. The rental is for $30 a day. I not know the fancy lens with what numbers and letters, but I always request the best I can manage with for this however is my very first digital camera and I not used it much thus far and later either at the end of the year or at the beginning of next year, were to take the kids to Disneyland and I will rent this same lens for that trip.

Right now im typing with one broken hand due to a mishap happening and this happen last night after the kids daddy went to a fight that he bough tickets for and with this hand hurting as it is, I still done everything that was expected of me in performing my responsibilities. So with all the pain I have within my back injury and now this broken hand, the worst pain I feel is that I cannot pick these kids up to hug them as I would like, and they as well for they are asking me this most the time.

The doctor tonight at the Durham Hospital said that manage well off better then most people with the pain I have. For my one plan I see in this is that these kids will grow (the twins, a boy & girl are 4.5 and their younger brother is 2.5) and later in the teen years will want to be with their friends so my time with them now is my own and they will spend a little time with me from time to time. It is why even more a reason for me too be their for them each and every day and when they get a little older I will start taking them to see the durhum bulls and ice hockey.

From the twins I asked them one time on how they know that I love them and the boy Nick said that I hug & kiss him and give him spankings and his sister says that I love her because she is beautiful. Here is another thing to hear, the doctors told my daughter the she would have twins and that they said that their be boys. And I had a few dreams and all were telling me that she was to have a boy & girl and that is what she had.

I need to rest up now for I had two long days with little sleep and just to type this small post had took me 1.5 hr, yuck

Pics I took today, or yesterday that is :liar:
