Are Gold Barbs fin nippers? Let's assume that if I get them, I will get 4 or 5.

I've had them for years and based on my experience would suggest they are one of the more mildly mannered barbs. I've kept them with gouramies for the last 2 or 3 years and have never had a problem.

I have 3 in a 36 with lots of tiger barbs, black ruby barbs, green tiger barbs, albino tiger barbs, serpae tetras, giant danio's, weed shiners and a gold gourami so I really don't have much info on fin nippage but they don't seem near as aggressive as any of the others. I think they'd probably be fine as well. KYle
Gold barbs are passive aggressive. They won't go after other fish. They will kind of swim up to them fast and turn around and run. They do well in most enviroments.
