I would avoid any strong currents. Fish that must constantly battle current use up a lot of energy and this takes a toll on their overall health when they are not designed for this, as goldfish are not. After all, they live for decades in still ponds. Water movement to keep the water flowing naturally is all you need.

Byron.

OK thanks Byron.
Yeah I have no experience with gold fish and have to decide if they are right to use in this situation.

So I need to find a way to baffle the flow, but not break the suction that draws the water. Hhhmmm. Maybe a tank divider?

Maybe silicone a piece of plexy in place within the tank...

Comet or ryukin.

Size is a concern as well as the ability to handle current.
