Does anyone know how long it takes for the sarasa comets colors to develop?

The reason I am asking is because last August I added some young goldfish to my pond that at that time were 1.5-2.5" and one of them was still bronze/silverish color. That fish changed to all orange and then to orange and white.

I know that it is common for goldfish to change color but wasn't sure if this was the normal procedure or not. I look forward to hearing your comments. Thanks

JH,

I've had GF change color as late as two years old, although the one bronze oranda I had kept it's colors. It seems to me that the most likely fish to change are orange with various mottlings: black, red, white, yellow. My all-yellow, moors, red caps and pearlscales have all kept their colors. Now, I've never bought any high quality GF since I keep them in relatively small tanks, but the colors change in them as well. It just seems people buy older GF so they seem less prone to changing.

Thanks. I knew goldfish change colors, but I wasn't sure about them going form bronze to orange and then to orange with white.

It will be interesting to see how he/she turns out.
