Good Betta Food?

Hi all. Just got a betta after years of not having one. I can't remember what I fed the last one, but he lived for YEARS, so I am hopeing for the same here lol!

At the moment (just got him yesterday) I've been feeding him live blood worms, and other frozen foods that I feed my corys and things.

Also, what would be good to keep with him in a 25ltr tank? I don't want him to get lonely but the panda corys he's sharing the QT tank with will outgrown the tank and have to join the panda tank with the rest of their kind at some point. Seeing as they were sleeping together in a fish pile all night but pretending not to know each other today, I think he would like friends of some sort. Maybe a lady betta? Or would the tank be too small for a lady and bloke betta? Its one of the Fish r Fun hexs I normally use for hospital tanks, but have cleaned one out and put it in my bedroom for Mr No-named betta (still workin on that lol)

Don't freak, it has heater, light, filter, sand and plants :D


as a side note, is sand ok for Bettas?
 
i have a red half moon betta, together with 2 females.. they work out just fine now, feeding and swimming ard together.. they take some time to get used to each other though, expect 2 or 3 days of the male chasing the female.. after abt 1 week they seem to settle down for mine..

as for food, i feed them guppy flakes (my male doesn't like them), brine shrimps and frozen bloodworm (he likes it)

and i have black sand in it with a log and plants.. no problem..

he's also sharing the tank with 2 ottos.. i'm planning on putting cory or catfishes in..
 
I feed my betta's pellets regularly and I feed freeze dried bloodworms every few days or so. The betta's in my community tanks get the same food as everybody else...flake and occasionally bloodworms.
 
I like HBH Betta Bites. (Buy them at PetsMart as the Top Fin brand - same stuff just repackaged and cheaper) But I will likely be switching over to Omega One as I feel better about feeding whole and real aquatic foods to fish rather than all the garbage like brewer's dried yeast, terrestrial grains and various "meals."
