Has anybody heard of using 'good luck bamboo', in an aquarium? I was thinking it could make an unusual aquascape, if they'd live. I've been told that they are not toxic, so they should be ok with the fish.
Bamboo really only needs .5 - 1 inch of water in their vase to thrive. That said, you really couldn’t grow them in an aquarium. The roots are bad for the fish's digestive system (what little abilities they do have!), and the stalk & leaves do not do well under water.
The greenest plants in the foreground of bromeliads1, and in bromeliads2 they are slightly to the left of the pendant lamp, looking slightly yellow-green because of the color temp of the light. These ones have twisted stems.
I'm sure most of you realize, but I'll mention for posterity's sake that "Lucky Bamboo" isn't actually bamboo. It's Dracaena sanderiana, a variety of houseplant.
