I called Petsmart to see if they had any DP's in stock and to my surprise they had 2, I drove down there and found them in the tank. One of em looked like she was about to die, REALLY skinny and barely moving, the other looked pretty healthy, again skinny, but swimming around none the less. So I had the lady bag em up and I took them home.
I floated them for 30 minutes adding water to the bag every 10 minutes, I then added them to the tank. I gave them about 20 minutes to check out their new surroundings and the one healthy seemed to enjoy it. the other, just kinda swam to the bottom and is now laying on the ground right next to some microswords, although not dead, I can see her heart beat. About 15 mins later I thawed out some frozen bloodworms (About 1/3 of a cube) and i dropped em in. The healthy went right at gobbling em' up, but the other one continued to sit by the microswords.
I am pretty worried about the other unhealthy looking one, is there anything I can add to the tank to help em out? salt? anything? Or do I need to give em some time to fully get friendly with the tank. AAH, so paranoid.
EDIT: Also, the puffers also are staying near the substrate and I thought that was do to the power of the filter and the surface disturbance it was causing, so I cut a filter media from my TopFin 20 in half and stuck it in each of my filters on my 10g (puffer tank)
thanks
