Gotta love craigslist

Congrats. You never know what you'll score on Craig's list. I recently picked up a 40 Gallon long in nice condition along with an oak stand. For free!
Just need to find some lights now....

Craigslist

I appreciate the use of your ad, I modified it a bit to include stands/lights/hoods and other aquarium items. We will see if I can get as lucky. I recently aquired a 30 gallon long tank in good condition with a stand, 2 28" light strips with bulbs that worked and a filter for $30.00 about a week ago. I scan craigslist quite frequently. Thanks again.

There are 50 gallon aquariums + stands listed for $225.00 in my area. I have never found anything even close to being a reasonable deal around here. I might have to give that ad a try.

The other deal for the 2 10s and 75 for $75 turned out to be 2 10s and a 65 super tall 48x13x24. It'll be a great discus or angel tank, but wasn't what I was expecting. The guy wasn't there to haggle with, so I just went ahead and paid his brother and took them anyway. It's not a bad deal, but I've gotten a 75 tank and stand/full hood for $100 and a 90 tank and stand with a wet/dry for $100 before out of the paper.

I'm going to accumulate what I can and then when I get everything rolling along the way I want switch out the tanks to a 24" base with 24" cube 60s and 48x24x24 120s.

Before you go pick up a tank, ask for the dimensions and do the calculation yourself L X W X H / 231 = US Gallons

nice find. i posted an ad on there a little while ago looking for a cheap 20 long, and someone responded to me with a 55 and iron stand, for free... that was my lucky find.
