I got a few quick questions. Do neon blue dwarf Gourami's like alot of water current? Right now I have my xp3 and a HOB filter on my 20gal. until I move my 55. I was thinking about pickin a dwarf gourami up today. If they can stand it would he/she do good in a pair? I know I would pick a female/male pair if possible. Can you tell the sex of these fish by their dorsal fin? Pointed-Male, Rounded-Female?

The gourami(s) will be in a tank with a bristlenose pleco, two albino cory's, and three rasboras. They will all eventually go into my 55gal.

Thanks!

Members of the anabantids family i.e. gouramis, bettas, prefer still waters. This is because their natural environment is flooded rice paddys, with shallow still water. Putting with a large current is not a good idea and I would strongly not advise it. They will wear themselves out and get very tired.
To sex dwarf gouramis, males are colourful and females are dull and grey. Females are hard to find because of this.

Alright cool thanks. I guess I'm just going to go pick up 2 more cory cats then. Thanks for the advice!

Yup - everyone wants bright colors, so the stores don't usually bother getting them. I'm trying to find some females myself, and the locals don't have them. I'm going to see if my closest one will special order a couple for me. I had two males in a 20g, and the one became extremely dominant. It bullied the other and wouldn't let it eat. I removed it to a hospital tank, but it ultimately died, anyway.
