I had 3 males that I thought were getting to aggressive because of no female so I bought one yesterday. Already there is a bubble nest (I think) and I just wondered the procedures of breeding for gouramis....do they eat their own young or do I have to worry about a bunch of babies? The more details the better...thx!

im no expert, but I just had my gold gouramis spawn just today. I had one female and one male in a 10g with floating plants and adjusted the temp to about 84. Then had a few places for the female to hide in. As far as what I am told, the male will take care of the bubble nest. That is about all I know so far. I just posted in the general section. You may want to read the replys (when I get them).

ok thx but i really dont want the babies....what do i have to do with them?

do you have any other fish in the tank with them? Also I heard that if you had more than one male in the tank, they would become aggressive towards each other.

yes I had 3 males...1 fire and 2 dwarf blue...i put decorations in there that she could hide in

just give them plenty of areas to claim as their own corner, wouldnt be surprised if they eat the young, mine love brine shrimp, which is not to far off from fry

only fish that are happy will breed, good job
