Im going to get 2 gouramis a blue and gold i think
I been reading alot about them and it says
you need some plants in you tank for them to hide in
How many plants do i need
im going to get fake ones and im not sure like how much cover do they need to have
if anyone has a pic that would be great
thanks

I provide 2-3 hiding places per fish, and try to concentrate them at the preferred depth. For gouramies, this means you'd want to provide some floating plants or wood in addition to the middle of the tank.

do they have any good fake hanging plants ?

I'm not really sure--I use real plants in all my tanks. I've seen a few that attach to the back wall, but that's about it. I really don't pay much attention though--sorry! Anyone else?

They do make fake plants with suction (sp? lol) for lizard tanks. I used to have them in my until I switched over to completely live plants.

Just go out and get a clump of water sprite...that stuff is rather difficult to kill.

How big is your tank going to be? Once you get in the 30g or more range, the tanks have a cross piece to support the cover. I usually "hang" plants off of this cross piece. Once I did a 10g for a friend and I strung a piece of fishing line across the top (anchored by aquarium sealant on both sides) and this worked as well. As someone who's killed every plant ever introduced into the hobby, I can assure you you can make a nice tank with some the great artificials that are out there now.
