This is one of those "I feel silly asking this, but I just have to know" questions. What are those two long wisker like things that are on my gourami's underside, and what are they for??

Yes my gouramis do seem to feel about with them. In the wild, are gouramis found in dark waters that would inhibit their sight and make feelers a good addaption to the environment?

I believe they are used for sensing. I don't know, maybe they even use them for communication, like an ant uses antennae?
Yes, those "whiskers" are attached at a very sensitive part of there body and are used for feeling. I don't know if they are used for anything else but could be.
My dwarf will stick them out if i take my fingers and do the same to him through the glass, we have good chats.
