Not so funny thing happened yesterday. A while back a lady ran a red light and totaled my truck. Luckily, she was insured. I recieved the final closing payment of $180 dollars from Allstate yesterday and since I was close I took it to their bank, The Bank of America to cash it so I could do some shopping. However, when I tried to cash it they (The Bank of America) said I had to give them $5 dollars to cash it because I didn't have an account there. I of course declined, took it to my bank and they recieved nothing. I couldn't believe it. This was a business check! If it were a personal check I might and I stress might be a little more sympathetic to their cause but a business check!?!

PS I think I'll write a letter to Allstate and tell them what I think of their bank.

More news. This time it might actually be funny... maybe. I e-mailed Allstate about what what happened and when I tried to CC Bank of America a copy, I couldn't because they "don't accept e-mail from outside sources." Now is it just me or does that sound like they're hiding??? Doesn't matter, I snail mailed 'em one.

Oh and by the way, I do realize that none of what I'm doing will have any affect at all. It's just that it feels good sticking my tongue out at them. :sim:

Yeah, been talking to my people at work and they say it's common place. First I've heard of it but then, I don't get around. I imagine your bank is just fine. Hopefully it's a bank by bank thing.
