I have green algae on the front of my class in my fishtank. It is like see through kind of and it doesnt seem to be much of a problem. Its not like the brown stuff that gets really think really fast. I was wondering if this is harmful to my fihs or not. Could you guys and gals help fill me in???

No its not bad at all. I haev a common pleco to control it and it actually does a very good job. It just doesnt seem to eat the green stuff but the green stuff doesnt grow that fast.

I'm learning that, in some cases even Otos can't keep up with some types of algae. The best way to fight algae is to find the cause and conditions and change them.

I had a burst of the brown algae and I cut back on the use of my lights and that took care of it. Now I have a spell of the green algae going and I found that my Nitrates are high. Coincidental? Maybe. Related? Maybe. The green stuff seems harder to scrub off than the brown was. Beats me but when you find out let me know.
