green tiger barbs

It sounds like you have 2F/1M, but be aware that they do better (and are more likely to spawn) in larger groups. I never saw a red line up the back of any and had regular, green, and albinos.

The red line I got from a website that I was reading trying to identify their sex... I know they do better in larger groups... I only use to have the one.. (he was the only friend my bala would allow) when the bala died I went and got him two mates (they are **** hard to find around here!) and came home to find my neighbour had thrown their mollies in to my tank! The what i believe is male has the run of the whole tank.. the mollies kind of ignore him.. but the other two barbs just hide from him and you never see them. I was hoping they would all school up nicely and was going to get more (if i found them and if i decided my tank could stock more)

Gotcha... sorry about the bala. :(

Keep in mind that the Greens are the same species as the regular or albino Tiger barbs and they will schoal (Barbs don't necessarily "school") together. I had 4 Regulars, 3 Green, and 3 Albino. It made for a very interesting group.

Thanks.. I was pretty sad.. had him for 5 years and he was 9 inches.. I was just in the process of getting him a 6 foot tank... when i woke up one morning and he was dead. :(

Yep know they are in the same species.. I just dont like any but the green (specially what im told is called a platinum green... tho i think its just a green with funny colours) :D.. having said that I havnt seen the Albino one. :) I went to 6 different fish shops and travelled 130 miles to find the green.. I was a woman on a mission! lol
