The pond with some Triops
Had anyone seen their snails groom themselves? (or at least their shells...)

Last night, My snail got active again (YES!!! Begone, algae!) but when he was on the glass, all of a sudden, he put his "trunk" onto his shell and began to "groom" it. Has anyone seen this happen?

(well of course, since my snail was inactive for like, 1 month, algae grew on his shell :D)

well (i think it was fishcatch22 who said this) I read that I shouldn't feed pond snails... not that I want to blame people...

I never said you shouldn't I said you didn't have to.

dang, i'm so bad at understanding stuff...

sorry, fishcatch!

No, i originally bought the pond snail (which I'm having a doubt it is... i thought maybe trapdoor...) but the others I don't know because they're only 1/2 centimeters long... but most likely pond snails

yeah, the people here identified it as the common pond snail... but sufing the net, i found trapdoor snails to have same color and shape as my snail...

Is there a such thing as a common pond snail? Japanese trapdoor snails look very different then most other snails in the pet trade. Do you have a pic of your snail? All snails need to be fed unless they are true pest snails. Snails get as hungry as you and I and will otherwise die if starved to death.
