So I bought a pot of anubias from petco today and noticed it had some "baby" plants in the pot as well. I read that anubias grows faster above water, so I've decided to grab an empty 2.5 gallon and put about an inch or two of water in it and a 15w light above and see how it does. I also have some small java fern offshoots that I thought I'd try if anybody thinks they might grow faster as well? Any thoughts on the setup (or lack thereof :grinyes:) or advice? Perhaps a heater to add humidity?

use tank water or gently fertilized soil.
close the top with something completely clear to let the light through. this keeps the humidity up by default.
small holes to let the slightest bit of air transfer will supply the setup with o2/co2 exchange. having them at opposite ends ensures transfer throughout the tank.
the java fern should do well.

good luck.
