I just wanted to let everyone know my puffer is alive and doing very well now. Purchased him 4 months ago and had him in 5 1/2 gallon tank with aquarium salt(If any of you puffer fanatics remember the troubles I had). With some time I slowy acclimated him to the proper level of instant ocean and moved him into a 10 gallon tank for now. He is in great shape (about inch and half long) and has an excellent personality, and loves eating frozen shrimp. I just wanted to let everyone know, since many people told me he would die...hes been a strong little guy. I have plans of moving him into bigger tank come christmas, what size do you puffer experts reccomend?

As long as your gonna buy a tank, why not go up to the size he'll be needing for life?

Dwarf puffers don't have as big a problem with teeth overgrowing, IME. Still need the crunchies, but it's not as critical as with the larger puffs. I can't imagine trimming their teeth, so that's a good thing.

LOL the bucktooth puffers are hilarious. My guy (Chisels is his name) has 2 snails in the tank he chews every now and then. I don't even know what kind they are, they were called pond snails and the guy at the store said they could last in brackish(although it was freshwater tank I got them out of!), I thought they wouldnt last long so for 2 bucks I bought two...but I was wrong. They've been living for 4 months, and they do a hell fo a job cleaning the brown alage on the glass. They are pretty small snails, with brown and black wavy stripped shells...any clue what kind?
