What SG are you keeping your BW tank at? I suppose any puffer can have dental problems, of fed pooorly.

1.009-1.010. Is that ok for his age? I hear as they grow older you can move them to full marine. Is that necessary?
High-end BW will do but once you go a lil higher, you can add a skimmer, which is a huge improvememt on the health of your tank. You can also then keep a few SW fish w/your puffer (if he tolerates them), like damselfish or a tomato clownfish.
