With spring on the way I am trying to get organized and purge some of my house plants and such to make room for my seedling trays. I have lots of plants, misc house plants, cuttings, bulbs, and seeds available for sale or for trade. I will have a more detailed list as the weekend approaches. At the moment I am guaging interests. I have other groups I am part of that I will also post to because I know this is mainly aquarium related but have seen other posts from time to time.

So far I am overrun with the following house plants:
Chlorophytum comosum - Spider plants - 2 types
Plectranthus verticillatus - Swedish Ivy
Zebrina pendula - Wandering Jew
Sempervivum - Hens and chicks (great for rock gardens, we bring indoors during winter months)
Hedera helix - Common Ivy & variegated cultivar with white edges

The majority of the listed can be shipped bare root or wrapped in a wet paper towel as cuttings. I have done this in the past within the coastal areas no problem. Shipping via USPS should be relatively inexpensive.

I also have a few tulip bulbs, some lillies, different types of seeds that can be sold/traded as seed or you can buy seedlings once I get started and seperate what I am going to keep and what I am going to trade/sell. Seeds would include several types of tomatoes, squash, cukes, beans, peppers. Mints, sages, thyme, and other misc herbs for cooking. I usually do a plant & seed swap twice a year.

PM or reply and let me know if you this sounds like something you might be interested in. Trades of other plants, seeds, aquaria related items all welcomed. I also take paypal.

OK here we go, I am sure I forgot something. As you can see from the pix it was WAY past time for a trimming. All are easy to care for, low maint. plants

hey docsoldlady sorry to inform ya but that's not a pothos that's a philodendron! same type of care though. great looking plants!

I'd be interested in at least a couple spider plants. Had some back in High School but they died. Been wanting to get some more.

I'm going to be moving to Yellowstone in May and living in a dormitory. Besides the spider plants, would any of your others be suitable for a dormitory? I like plants; they keep the air fresh, lol.

I have 2 types of spiders ATM. Both are easy to care for and shoot off runners when they are root bound. You are right, they are great for air quality!! My house is a small jungle and I never seem to get sick anymore, I used to get bronchitis once a year! I have tons of them at the office, every time we get someone new or a bd comes along well...they get a spider LOL! I have found the Zebrina pendula or AKA wandering jew is fairly easy to care for, doesn't need direct lighting etc. Just have to keep it trimmed or as you can see it gets leggy. Great part is it is easy to propogate so if you break one off you can stick it back into the soil, keep it moist and they take root fairly quickly. Or toss cuttings into water, but when potting the roots have to adjust to the soil blah blah blah. Also the ivy's & swedish ivy (not really an ivy apparently) are easy peasy.

Pretty much everything pictured minus the hens and chicks I can either send you some with roots, cuttings, or even potted. Let me know, I am not looking for much maybe trade for a few aquatic clippings? Seeds of some sort? Other houseplants? I'd rather trade for more houseplants :evil_lol: I need more like I need a hole in the head.

Now as for killing them this is usually done by overwatering and they get what is called root rot. I seriously water mine only when the soil is dry, and they don't need direct sunlight but seem to color up better when some is provided. Most of mine didn't start off directly in the window but as they grew we installed brackets and took out the shelfing we had in here and hung them up and let them do their thing.

As this is getting too long shoot me a PM and let me know if there is anything else that interests you. I don't know if you will have anywhere to grow outdoors but I could even send you some vegie seeds to grow and share with all your friends at the dorm or something.
