ok, don't jump on me or anything for posting this! I have no idea, but if i do go w/ the SW tank and have all these guppies that i dont want, could i feed them to sw fish? i know they wouldnt last long in that water, but i would hope they would become food pretty quick....or would a sw fish know what to do with a guppy?

im clueless, its just a thought. i think if anyone would know, you guys would. if they wouldn't eat them, i could always just give them to my friends to feed his oscars.

thanks

Feeding freshwater fish to saltwater fish is not a good idea. Freshwater fish have 20 percent MORE fat than your average saltwater fish and 16 percent of that they can not digest. If you feed a sw fish a fw fish continually then it is equivelent to making a human eat McDonalds the rest of his life. They will get fatty liver disease and die. Plus it adds to their aggression if they are fed live fish (especially fish like Triggers and Puffs) so it is just a good idea to not feed fw fish to sw fish. Anyway, hope this helps.

hmm, pretty interesting. that was just something that came to mind when i made a post about guppies in the fw forum. more for the oscars!

thanks
