Can these two fish co exist in a 35 gallon hex tank?

rams are a very docile cichlid and I think they should get along perfectly fine. See my signature to see what my german blue is friendly with.

all rams are different, so dont take this story as a scare. lol. I had a ram once that as soon as he saw a guppy he would suck up its tail and rip it to shreds, and fling the guppy around the tank.... yes scary huh? But like i said i may have had just that one very mean one. good luck :D

clawlan its your fish. If you want to ignore and/or disregard the environmental needs of a particular fish, it is your business. Just make it clear that you are doing so, and don't encourage others to do the same without cautioning them first. Standard care of rams - I assume we are talking about BLUE rams, not Bolivians here, is that they require warm temperatures to be happy and healthy for long. They are a savanna fish, coming from hot shallow little pools.

i am concerned with my Balloon Rams, i have the temperature set at 79F, everywhere I read for the temp should be at 77F-84F for the blue rams in general, I think i am on the right track, but should it be set higher? I love my fishies and want them to be happy and healthy.
