My female guppy has had an enlarged vent for about a week now. She looks like she is ready to drop, and has looked like that for about a week. She has stopped eating, and hangs out at the back of the tank.

Does she have a definite gravid spot, and, had you noticed any stringy, white or mucous-like feces previously?

Yes she has a large gravid spot and over the last few days there has been stringy feces and there appears to be nothing in it.

The stringy feces is worrisome. It could be that she has internal parasites. That combined with a pregnancy would equal quite a belly full. This of course would explani the lethargy and not eating. I think your guppy is in bad, bad shape. When a fish stops eating it usually is a bad sign. For internal parasites the most most effective treatment I have seen is metronidazole (name brand Flagyl) soaked flake foods, but if the fish isn't eating, then obviously this isn't very helpful. You could still try it.

If I were you I would remove this fish from the community and put it in a quarantine tank for treatment as these internal parasites can be ingested by other fish. Good luck.

Will the fish food soaked in the stuff you suggested harm the other fish if they dont have the parasite?

It shouldn't but it is an antibacterial, so it's always best to be cautious. That's just another reason to move her to quarantine.
