well my snakeskin female guppy gave birth on the 20th may to 14 babbies and 1 waited a week before i put her back in my community tank and now today she is sitting (actually on the rocks) on bottom of tank and barely moves and is breathing hard and has clampped tail but she physicly looks perfect, so does all the other fish. My water par. are good ph 7.4, amonia 0, NO2 0, nitrates 10. So i'm stumped not sure what to do, don't want to get my other fish sick if it's contagious, need some advice please
thanks

she dosen't have a gravid spot anymore

is there a large difference in ph, kh, gh, and TDS (total dissolved solids) between the two tanks? could be osmotic shock if so.

The males could be chasing her around too much if you have more male guppies than females.

Well it's been more than a week that she's back in the com. tank wouldn't be effects before this

well as it says in my signature 2 males for 5 female, i thought it was a good ratio

Help

at a week back in the community tank, i would agree, osmotic shock is not likely. hmmmmm...... idk atm.

how old is she and how many babies has she 'spit out' in her life? might just be a worn out old momma.

there could be somebody in the tank bugging her. when she is on the bottom of the tank is it usually in the middle, corner, back, front of tank? hiding or out in the open?

well i bought her about a month ago so her first birth with me and she wasen'T even that big when she birthed

i haven't noticed any females in particular getting chased
she is staying in the corner in the back but it the open and even when the males or rummies come around her she dosen't even move or anything

hmmmmm...... i'm stumped.

might have been something that went wrong while she was having her babies and it's taken this long to show full effect. maybe some innards got twisted? she has pooped since giving birth?
