Hi. I just bought 2 male guppies and 3 females. I know I need more females since I have 2 but I wanted to buy the other females from a different store.

Anyways, are females usually more "dull"(less color). The store I got the first group had like very colorful males but not much on female(except the tail). Also, 1-2 of the guppies I just bought, their eyes is very dark. Like full black. I read somewhere about this, forgot where. I'll keep searching on some guppy things again.

One of the female guppy is attacking the male guppy. It was biting the fins. This male guppy has been tired/not swimming around when I put him in my tank. His tail also looked "not good" ever since we got him. I guess I was a bad buyer although I'm glad I bought it too so I can try and help him. I just took the male guppy(the sick one) out the tank and into a 4 litter bucket. I dont know what to do. Should I leave the male in their and stuff(without filtration, etc.) or should I take the agressive(female) guppy out instead? I left the agressive in there as it was only picking on the sick guppy. Any thoughts? What should I do?

I've seen and had some very colorful females. It just kinda depends on the what the lfs has in at the time I guess. With all the different strains that have been introduced, females can be just as colorful as males, but it's pretty uncommon.

Are you sure it's a bite mark or a deformity. With all the inbreeding that guppies get put through it's not uncommon to find guppies that have wierd shaped tails.
