I have hair algea problem. My plants are covered in this stuff. I clean it out on a weekly basis and it comes back twice as bad. It s growing off the java moss, Theres a cloud of this stuff. How do get rid of this without bleaching the plants? The java moss is really starting to grow and Id hate to remove it. Its attached to a lighthouse. I did remove a couple of plants and rinsed them in the sink this did not work. I have gone thru just about every stage of algea. But this one just wont go away. Any thoughts? Tim

With that much light the CO2 is a necessity. According to the chart I have you have less than 4ppm right now. I had hairy algae (staghorn type) in the beginning. It finally went away as the tank matured but I had to keep up on the CO2 and other nutrients. What is your fertilizing dosing schedule?

I chopped infected plants and did 50% water changes until it slowed down then finally disappeared.
