I read somewhere that it was a bad idea to put your hands in a betta tank because they have sharp teeth. Would it or would it not be possible to hand feed a betta?

If there answer is no, are dwarf gourami hand feedable?

I have to agree...my betta has a habit of leaping out of the water and clamping down on my finger if it is within reach. Its a tiny pinch, but surprises me every time! As long as your fingers are out of the way of the food, I think you could hand feed him.

I gave away my gold gourami that i used to hand feed. It was a small fish at the time but it at worms right out of my fingers.

A Betta wouldn't even be able to break your skin. I wouldn't worry about it. I've hand fed many large Cichlids and they certainly are capable of drawing blood.

we used to have a betta, and he bit hard, i tried and tried to get him to hand feed, with no luck, then one day he swam straight up and missed the food, and whether im just a total chicken, i dont know, it really did hurt, was like a couple of needles sticking in, it didnt break the skin but i wasnt going to try to hand feed again lol.
