When I first set up my aquarium I bought a Wardley Ammonia/PH/Temperature monitor for the tank in which even the thermometer did not work. Yesterday when when walking through Petsmart I spotted Marineland(or Seachem? Can't remember) constant monitors, and was wondering if anyone had tried them before. Thanks in advance!

I have a Wardley one and the PH is always off and the Ammonia is only good at checking drastic changes in the levels. Plus the constant monitors need replacement "media" every month. IMO it is cheaper but a little more work to just deal with test kits.

Meh, I wouldnt bother with all the "live" monitors and whatnot. they're horribly innaccurate and a complete ripoff in my opinion.

i had the one that lasted a year though i never seen it change colors. once a tank is cycled and stocked over time it starts to get really stable or should if your doing most things right. i have tanks were i can tell you the ph ammonia nitrate and nitrite with out even testing. though i do test just to make sure.

I have the pH from seachem. When I first put it in there, it was fairly accurate. I forgot to change out my co2 for a day or two and algae kind of took over. Grew on it the indicator. The thing's never been the same. I probably won't buy it again.

A while back I purchased a coralife digital thermometer, actually, two, one for each tank. I knew they had a reputation for being inaccurate, but I thought it was like one or two degrees inaccurate. Nah man, one of mine is like 10-11 degrees inaccurate and the other is 4-5 degrees inaccurate. Now I've gone back to the old school glass/alcohol thermometer.

I will say, if I could get a "live" nitrate monitor for under $200, that would be great.
