Happy Memorial Weekend Everyone!

I told him to take my camera but he didn't want to. They've been doing this for years, no reports of anything.
Maybe they are just not receptive.

I love to go to my family cemetary in southern IL. It always had felt good to be there. Many generations of my father's family way back to the ones that came over from Scotland. My grandmother would lead me around as a child and explain who everyone was. I have taken my kids, and I feel that she is there and is pleased I've brought them and continued the tradition. I can't remember all the names off the top of my head now, but when I'm there I can remember who they are and the relationship. Has to be her helping.

Celebrated my bro's b'day today, and guess what

I HAD TO WORK!!!!!
but wasn't too bad. :)

Long live the Scotch!
Or is it simply scottish? Either way they rock! Where else do you think a family as cool as mine came from?! fly fly from the clan Mackay! (see that rythmes!)

And oh, yeah, Happy Memorial Day everybody!

A pretty good weekend with a mini-barbeque and good seats to watch the White Sox come from behind to win in the bottom of the 9th!!!! That game was packed! But now I have to go to work

Went camping, Friday was great, Saturday was great, Sunday was cooler and overcast with occassional sprinkles, turned to a hard rain around 5. By Monday (now snowing/raining/sleeting), the roads were boggy grease pits. Ended up leaving our camper, took 5+ hours to get 3 trucks and a trailer with 4 wheelers on it down ~7 miles of road, back to the asphalt. Waiting for it to dry out enough that we can collect the camper, hopefully sometime this week.

I layed pretty low since the engine on my bicycle ran out of gas friday. I'm still not feeling very energetic, but I did redesigne and replant my 10 gallon tank.

I am glad to see that not everybody forgot what Memorial Day is supposed to be really about. It was never intended to be just a day off of work. It was brought about to be a day of rememberance of people who lost their lives for this great country of ours.

Sorry if I am sounding pissed or mad, but it has been a long 2 weeks with all things considering of the situation I am in.

Thanks DeVitaf and Nursie for remembering.

Memorial day is special to me Tyler my grandfather surivived WW2, and my dad was in Korea. We did not go to the WW2 memorial in D.C. because we knew that there would be hordes of people and such, so we made our visit yesterday when the crowds were gone and we could truely appreciate the beauty of the memorial, I know that if my grandfather had still been alive he would have really liked how it was designed, very touching.

In Louisianna, they have a beautiful memorial wall of those that fell during the several wars. They even listed victims of 9/11. All of them were from LA, but it was breath taking the same. I was amazed when I saw wars that I'd never heard of. I had expected the Vietnam section to be the longest, but was shocked when I found WW2 section took most of the space.

I didn't forget, T. I just had a pretty stressful weekend. I did explain the importance of the day to my kids.
