I'm out of town on business and my wife phones to tell me that a couple of Harlequins are acting strange. 2 of them have separated themselves from the group and are hanging out on 1 side of the tank (red leaf plants are on this side of the tank?). The smaller of the 2 chases away the others when they come near. They don't bother any of the other fish in the tank just the other rasbora.

They also look healthy, eating fine and fins not clamped. My first thought is that maybe a little romance is going on but I've not seen this with my Harlequins before so was just wondering if that is typical breeding behaviour?

I also know that breeding these can be tough and I haven't been trying to get them to breed. However, I've always got some kind of fry poping up in the tank. I think the latest are a few Ram fry...

My harlequins do a funny little dance. Two will pair up side by side. some times facing the same direction sometimes oposite directions. And shimy and flash at each other. I've always thought it was them sorting out there pecking order but they seem to do it all the time. Never had two brake from the school longterm. Sounds intresting.

My Harlequins do always seem to flash like you had mentioned. I'm just hoping that these 2 that have separated from the group aren't sick or something - but they seem and look fine. However, I'm not there so I can only go by what I hear from my wife.
